Key Issue Areas

In order to be a strong advocate, United Way of Kentucky will continue to take the lead on core issues, be a strong coalition partner on others, and lend our organizational endorsement as needed on other legislative matters.

Early Care and Education

United Way of Kentucky actively supports a public policy agenda focused on improving the quality of life for our youngest and most vulnerable citizens – our children. We support strong federal, state, and local public policy that will provide, and adequately fund programs and services that enable children to be safe, healthy, and successful in school.

Access to Services

United Way of Kentucky advocates for federal, state, and community resources that ensure a seamless infrastructure of health and human service support for all children and their families.

Financial Stability Initiatives

United Way of Kentucky will advocate for federal and state legislative and regulatory policies to improve the financial stability of low to moderate income families including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Individual Development Accounts (IDAs), the Child Tax Credit, Savers Credits, and other home ownership and community development tax credits.
